Furukawa (DTX/Versiv series) twisted pair certification test standard operation steps
Distinguish between two common modes: Permanent Link (for wiring project acceptance, within the wall / from patch panel to panel, without end-to-end test jumpers); Channel (including end-to-end jumpers, complete end-to-end link), most engineering acceptance uses the Permanent Link.

1. Pre-test preparation
Instrument inspection
Main unit + remote intelligent sub-unit, check battery power; insufficient power will cause test errors.
Install corresponding adapters: Permanent Link must replace with permanent link adapter; Channel test uses channel adapter.
Check the test jumpers themselves: First use Furukawa self-check to test the jumpers, if the jumpers are不合格， they cannot be used to test the link.
Power off the cables， remove the equipment
The two ends of the network cable cannot be connected to switches， computers， POE devices； they must all be disconnected， as power-on will interfere with the test or even damage the instrument. Visual inspection for any compression， broken ends， or damaged outer skin of the cable.
Power on， enter settings (SETUP)
Set test standard limits： Cat5e / Cat6 / Cat6A / Cat7， select TIA-568.2-D or ISO standard； key point： Select Permanent Link / Channel mode (wrong selection directly invalidates the acceptance)
Set cable ID number (automatically incremented， used for engineering report number， such as A01， A02)
Enter project name， operator， location， date and time； unit： meters
Save configuration， return to main interface
2. Wiring
Permanent Link connection method (mainstream for engineering acceptance)
Host end： Host permanent link adapter → Patch panel port
Remote sub-unit： Remote permanent link adapter → Room information panel
Note： Permanent Link does not count the length of the test jumpers， only measures the fixed wiring (the theoretical maximum length is 90 meters)
Channel Channel connection method
Host connects to the patch panel through qualified test jumpers， remote sub-unit connects to the information panel with qualified test jumpers， including end-to-end jumpers， with a total length limit of 100 meters.
Both the host and the remote sub-unit power on simultaneously， wait for the host to recognize the remote end and establish communication.
3. Automatic test (AutoTest)
Switch the knob to AUTOTEST， confirm the medium is twisted pair
Press the [TEST] button， the instrument automatically runs a complete set of tests：
Twist sequence， cable length， insertion loss (attenuation)， NEXT near-end crosstalk， ELFEXT far-end crosstalk， return loss， impedance， delay， offset， etc. all parameters
Wait for several seconds， automatically complete all index comparisons， the screen displays PASS (pass) / FAIL (fail)
4. View results + save
View summary： Overall PASS/FAIL， cable length， margin (margin， the larger the margin， the more stable)
Can enter the detailed page to view the curves of each parameter and the limits； failed items will be marked in red， give the fault distance (HDTDX locates the breakpoint / crosstalk position)
Press save， write the current cable ID number， save in the instrument memory / memory card， for subsequent export of reports
5. Export report (LinkWare software， essential for project delivery)
USB connect the Furukawa main unit and the computer， open the LinkWare PC software
Upload all test records， generate PDF acceptance report， can be printed and stamped， as comprehensive wiring completion materials， foreign trade product inspection reports.
6. Common failure troubleshooting
Twist sequence error： Crystal head / module wiring error (T568B is the main type)
Crosstalk not up to standard： Poor termination， too long twisted pair separation， compression， strong electromagnetic interference
Attenuation exceeds limit： Long cable， poor copper， bending and compression
Open circuit / Short circuit: Copper core breaks, metal contacts short circuit. The instrument will quickly locate the fault distance.
 Important precautions
When replacing the adapter or changing the test standard, it is recommended to zero the instrument as a reference;
Keep the test environment away from strong electricity, frequency converters, and high-power cables to reduce external interference;
The permanent link and channel cannot be used together. Different acceptance standards result in invalid reports;
The test jumper must be regularly calibrated for self-checking. Incomplete calibration of the jumper will cause large-scale misjudgments.
