The new standard for the cable industry will be implemented in 2026! Gigabit shielded cables become the standard for new infrastructure networking
With the comprehensive promotion of the national 10G optical network pilot program, the large-scale popularization of WiFi 7 devices, and the in-depth implementation of industrial internet, the domestic integrated cabling industry officially implements a new networking standard in 2026. Super 6-category shielded cables have become the standard for networking in new parks, data centers, commercial buildings, and smart venues. The industry is experiencing a comprehensive 10G upgrade wave.

According to the latest industry specification of ANSI/TIA-568.2-E, starting from 2026, all new commercial networks, WiFi 7 base station networking, and horizontal wiring of small and medium-sized data centers must use super 6-category shielded cables. This type of cable has a 500 MHz ultra-high bandwidth, can stably support high-speed transmission of 10Gbps to 25Gbps, and is equipped with an efficient shielding structure, effectively eliminating electromagnetic interference and signal crosstalk problems, perfectly adapting to the network transmission requirements of high-density networking and complex electromagnetic environments.
At the same time, the industry has introduced stricter compliance standards for cable quality, clearly prohibiting the use of CCA copper-clad aluminum inferior cables in regular engineering networking, and mandating that engineering wiring use pure oxygen-free copper core cables to ensure stable PoE++ power supply and high-speed transmission performance. The new standard clearly states that qualified engineering cables must meet copper core conductivity ≥ 99.9%, signal attenuation rate more than 30% lower than that of ordinary inferior cables, and the lead content is lower than 50 ppm. The flame retardant, environmental protection, and weather resistance performance have been comprehensively upgraded.
Currently, more than 20 provinces and cities across the country have completed the layout of the 10G optical network pilot program. The demand for 7-8 Gbps high-speed equipment data transmission in the industrial manufacturing sector has increased significantly. The requirements for the stability, compliance, and security of cables in smart parks, remote medical care, and intelligent manufacturing scenarios continue to upgrade. With the full implementation of the new standard, inferior cables will accelerate their exit from the market. The trend of industry standardization and high-quality development becomes increasingly clear, and the independent controllability of the domestic high-end cable industry chain is further enhanced, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of new infrastructure.
