Six types of flat wire

Category 6 flat cable is a sixth-generation standard Ethernet cable. It has a flat shape and, compared with the traditional circular Category 6 cable, it has unique advantages and application scenarios. Here is a detailed introduction about it:
Structural features: There are usually 8 network cables inside a Category 6 flat cable. Each network cable is in a straight line, and the adjacent two network cables are paired up in pairs. There is no cross frame or straight frame structure like the circular Category 6 network cable. This structure makes the flat wire body relatively thin, with a thickness generally of about 2mm.
Performance parameters: The Category 6 flat cable complies with the TIA/EIA-568-B.2-1 standard, with a bandwidth of up to 250MHz. It can support a transmission rate of 10 GBPS within a range of 55 meters and 1Gbps within a range of 100 meters.
Advantages: Category 6 flat wire is thinner and softer, making it easier to roll and install in compact Spaces. It is suitable for crossing narrow Spaces or being installed on surfaces, such as home network cabling and desk bottom cabling, and is also easy to hide, meeting scenarios with high aesthetic requirements. Meanwhile, flat cables are easier to bend than round cables and are suitable for environments where they need to pass through bends or corners.
Disadvantage: Compared with round cables, flat cables may be slightly inferior in terms of anti-interference and protection, especially in long-distance transmission and high-speed network environments. Its transmission distance may also be subject to some limitations. Generally, the maximum length is about 30 meters. Its use in large-scale networks requires careful consideration.
Application scenarios: Category 6 flat cables are suitable for home networking, game console networking, NAS networking, TV wall wiring and other scenarios. They can also be used to connect routers, computers, switches, wireless aps, cameras and other devices.
