Network cable export complete set of certifications (bulk engineering cable vs finished patch cord)
Differences: Bulk cable for engineering pre-buried network cables (permanent wiring in buildings); Patch cord for finished jump cables (short connection cables in computer rooms). The regulations are different in the EU.
1. Engineering bulk network cables (pre-buried wiring, mandatory)
CPR-CE + DoP declaration (mandatory)
Standard EN50575, fire resistance rating: B2ca / Cca / Dca-s2-d2-a2 / Eca / Fca; Ordinary EMC-CE is invalid, it must be CPR building regulations CE, accompanied by DoP performance declaration document.
The patch cord does not need CPR!!
RoHS2.0 (mandatory, all network cables / patch cords must be), limits harmful substances.
REACH-SVHC (necessary for customers / platforms, not mandatory).
GPSR General Product Safety Regulation (forced by e-commerce Amazon): Must have EU representative (EU representative), label printer + EU representative address information.
Performance report (not a certificate): ISO/IEC 11801 (Cat5e-Cat8 transmission performance).
2. Finished patch cord
Mandatory: RoHS2.0, GPSR (e-commerce)
Customers must request: REACH, ISO/IEC 11801 performance report
❌ Not applicable to CPR, do not do CPR
UK (Brexit)
Engineering pre-buried network cables: UKCA + UK-CPR + DoP; Patch cords do not need UK-CPR.
USA (no government mandatory certificates, project factually mandatory)
Passive copper network cables do not require FCC, FCC only regulates wireless radio equipment.
UL-Listed / ETL-Listed (choose one, project must have)
NRTL Listed certificate, it must be queryable in the official database; it is not a simple test report.
Fire resistance rating: CMP > CMR > CM; CMP ventilation duct, CMR main trunk of vertical shaft, CM ordinary indoor.
Bulk engineering network cables must be Listed; finished patch cords many customers accept UL-Verified / ETL-Verified performance reports, no need for Listed listing.
ANSI/TIA-568.2-D performance test report (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A/Cat8), engineering customers must check Alibaba.co... 。
RoHS: Not legally mandatory, but importers and Amazon almost all require it.
Canada
CSA or ETL-C (a single certificate from the US and Canada), meeting the Canadian building codes.
Domestic sales
CCC compulsory certification (for national standard electrical wires and cables, it is required in the domestic market; not necessary for exports).
Quick reference table (for foreign trade practical operation)
Table
Market Product Mandatory Compliance Documents Customer & Platform Required Documents
EU Engineering Loose Cable CE-P (DoP), RoHS2.0, GPSR (e-commerce), REACH, ISO11801 Performance Report
EU Finished Patch Cord RoHS2.0, GPSR (e-commerce) REACH, ISO Report, No CPR
UK Engineering Loose Cable UKCA+UK-CPR (DoP), RoHS REACH, ISO Report
US Engineering Loose Cable No Legal Requirement UL-Listed / ETL-Listed, TIA-568 Report, RoHS
US Finished Patch Cord No Legal Requirement TIA-568 Performance Report, RoHS
Canada Engineering Cable CSA / ETL-C TIA-568 Report, RoHS
⚠️ High-risk Points
CE does not equal CPR: Many factories only do ordinary CE. EU engineering cable must be CPR-CE + DoP; otherwise, the goods will be detained by customs and the project will not be accepted.
UL Listed ≠ UL Test Report: Listed means listing with factory inspection, which can be queried in the database; a simple test report cannot be accepted for US engineering projects. ETL Listed has the same legal effect as UL, and the price is more advantageous.
LSZH Low Smoke Halogen-Free: Europe looks at CPR grades Dca/Cca; in the US, LSZH cables do not have CMP grades. Do not confuse.
Cat8 Cable: EU implements CPR EN50575; in the US, UL-Listed is required, and it must meet TIA-568.2-D.
