Key Points for Selecting and Installing Eight Types of Flat Wires
1. Purchase Guide
Shielding Type: Opt for **S/FTP (Cat8.2)** dual shielding, which offers more reliable anti-interference performance
Conductor Material: Ensure it is OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper), avoiding the impact of copper-clad aluminum / copper-clad steel on transmission
Certification Qualifications: Must have REACH/CE/RoHS certifications, and it is preferable to pass Fluke testing
Length Selection: For 40Gbps applications, the length should be ≤ 30 meters, and for ordinary applications, it should be ≤ 50 meters
2. Installation Precautions
Bending Radius: The shielded flat wire needs to be ≥ 6 times the width of the cable to avoid excessive bending
Shield Continuity: Ensure a reliable connection between the shielding layer and the ground wire during crimping of the connector to prevent signal leakage
Avoid Strong Interference Sources: Stay away from power lines (≥ 30cm), frequency converters, motors and other equipment
Termination Specifications: The stripping length should be ≤ 13mm, and keep the distance between the wire pairs to the root of the connector
Fixing Method: Use dedicated flat wire clips for fixation to avoid deformation caused by using circular wire clips
