Starlink cable is a key connection component of SpaceX's Starlink satellite Internet system. Its core function is to achieve power transmission, data communication and signal enhancement between terminals and power sources/routers. It is divided into three major categories: standard third-generation cable, Mini dedicated cable and three-in-one composite cable, which are suitable for different terminal types and scenario requirements. It is the "lifeline" that ensures the stable operation of Starlink equipment.
I. Core Basic Uses (Applicable to All Starlink Lines)
1.1 Power Transmission (Core Function)
Standard third-generation cable: Provides 65W stable power to the terminal through the 48V PoE protocol, compatible with standard Starlink terminals (V3/REV4)
Mini cable: Provides 100W power to Mini terminals via 20V PD protocol or pure DC, compatible with Starlink Mini terminals
Key value: Built-in voltage compensation and overcurrent/overvoltage protection ensure stable power supply over long distances (up to 45m) and reduce power loss
1.2 Data Communication (Standard Line Exclusive)
Supports 2.5Gbps high-speed data transmission (Cat6 standard), meeting the peak download requirement of 475Mbps for Starlink
Data is transmitted through twisted-pair 4-5/7-8 cables, running in parallel with power transmission without interference
Adaptation function: Automatic rate negotiation, compatible with routers of different brands, and supports multi-device networking
1.3 Signal Enhancement and Anti-interference
The multi-layer metal shielding design reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI/RFI) and enhances signal stability
Some high-end lines are equipped with built-in signal amplifiers to extend the transmission distance (up to 45m) and enhance coverage in areas with weak signals
Waterproof and dustproof (IP67/IP68) design, suitable for deployment in harsh outdoor environments
